About ORBS

The Office of Recruiting for the Biomedical Sciences Graduate Programs serves as a resource for students seeking to enter doctoral training in the basic sciences.

We encourage students at all stages in their undergraduate training to contact the program director, Jon Gottesman, to ask questions and receive mentoring on becoming a graduate student and careers in science. You can also view discussions by becoming a fan on the program Facebook group.

The office is located in the Medical School and receives support from that school and the College of Biological Sciences.

The office coordinates and supports recruiting and retention activities for graduate students in 6 Ph.D. programs:

• Biochemistry, Molecular Biology & Biophysics

• Integrative Biology & Physiology

• Molecular, Cellular, Developmental Biology & Genetics

• Microbiology, Immunology and Cancer Biology

• Neuroscience

• Pharmacology
