2008 Research Day

The Director of Graduate Studies Council thanks the Organizing Committee for the success of the first annual Biomedical Sciences Graduate Programs Research Recognition Day held at the McNamara Alumni Center on Tuesday, May 27.

More than 175 students, faculty and staff attended the inaugural event that featured 84 student posters from Biochemistry, Molecular Biology & Biophysics, Cellular and Integrative Physiology, Microbiology, Immunology & Cancer Biology, Molecular, Cellular, Developmental Biology & Genetics, Neuroscience and Pharmacology.

Congratulations to Veronica Descotte (MCDB&G) whose poster, " Bone Morphogenetic Protein (BMP) Signaling is Require for Memory and Learning", was judged to be the best poster.

Thanks also to the 2008 Beatrice Z. Milne and Theordore Brandenburg Award winners for their outstanding oral presentations, which got the event off to a great start.
